School Board Offsite Meeting

Singapore American School is governed by an elected school board of parent volunteers. The board is currently led chairman Ehab Abou-Oaf, who is annually elected by the rest of the board. We are fortunate to have an extremely talented board who work very hard to ensure the long term success of our school.

I thoroughly enjoy working with this group of committed and thoughtful leaders, and over the course of the year, you will hear more from our board chair about their work, including the selection of the next superintendent for SAS.

This past weekend we had our semi-annual offsite board meeting here in Singapore. This offsite gives the board the opportunity to work together discussing governance, strategy, and the long term vision for the school. In this case the board had the opportunity to work closely with the superintendent's cabinet examining our strength as a school as well as the changing dynamics in education, and how we will respond. It was a fruitful conversation, and was particularly useful working with the cabinet in light of a leadership transition this year.
