Dear Friends,
Over the past five years, our faculty and leadership have committed themselves to learning-focused improvements and as a result, we are building incredible programs and practices that will prepare our kids for a dynamic future. This innovation and hard work, coupled with the extraordinary care provided for each and every student, is important to our future.
As we go from good to great as a school and work to achieve the goals set forth in our strategic plan, I am thankful for the support of the community members who have chosen to go above and beyond what is required and dedicate their personal philanthropy to helping us achieve our vision. In an organization with a strong culture of philanthropy, everyone supports fundraising and every donor is acknowledged and honored for their support. From administration to board members to faculty and staff to parents and alumni, every person can serve as an ambassador for philanthropy. This is a responsibility that we share.
In this spirit of shared responsibility, we are also transparent about the allocation of the money that we raise through the community, money that has a direct and immediate impact on our students. Annual gifts from our parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends provide vital funds that give the school flexibility to undertake initiatives and programs that would not otherwise be possible, and in 2016-17, donors gave a total of S$2.5 million to expand educational opportunities at Singapore American School and to support the people, programs, and places that make our school exceptional. Please take the time to read our impact report that shares information about how the support of our community—parents, alumni, and friends—makes a difference at SAS.
Our school board, foundation board, and administration generously offer their full support with 100 percent participation. As we work together as a community, I invite you to demonstrate your personal commitment to and support for Singapore American School by making a gift to the SAS Foundation this year. This is an easy way to demonstrate that you are "all in." No gift is too small, and ultimately the highest level of participation and commitment to the goals of the school are the greatest objective. Stay tuned for this request from the advancement office. Thank you in advance for your trust and support.
Sincerely,
Dr. Chip Kimball
