You are invited to Striking a Balance Between Academic Expectations and Students' Abilities Workshop by David Gleason on the following days:
- Monday, December 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Pan Pacific Orchard Hotel (Picasso room)
- Tuesday, December 12 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in drama theater
The workshop involves an interactive exercise designed specifically to help parents recognize and modify their own unwitting contributions to their children's struggles. Anxiety, disillusionment, and depression emerge, sometimes with devastating outcomes, as conflicts between academic expectations and students' abilities persist. Unprecedented insights from human brain research now reveal that environment not only affects adolescent identity but shapes the brain itself. For all our students, "striking the balance" has crucial lifelong implications. With this new information, parents will be empowered to understand and support their children more fully. This is an open invite and refreshments will be provided.
